Not sure which exterior components need attention?

A Genesis Roofing & Contracting inspection covers your vents, soffit, fascia, and more.

Attic vents

A well-ventilated attic has so many benefits, such as reducing your cooling and heating costs, reducing and preventing the growth of mold and mildew, and helping prevent those terrible ice dams in the winter. Inspection of your attic vents from a qualified Genesis Roofing & Contracting professional is a simple step you can take to ensure your attic is adequately ventilated.

Soffit

A soffit is basically the underside of the roof overhang. Proper treatment of this surface gives a home a nice finishing touch. Materials used are usually aluminum, and are available in different styles and colours. The location of the soffit is also an area at great risk for weather damage, and it can be a place for bees, wasps, and birds to form nests, and for squirrels and raccoons to gain entry and create homes.

Fascia

The fascia is located underneath the roofline, behind the gutters. This creates a smooth, sleek appearance and also does the job of protecting the roof and interior of the house from any sort of weather damage.

Eavestroughs

Although eavestroughs play such a huge part in protecting a home, they're often the least maintained area. They play an important role in collecting rainwater from the roof and preventing it from spilling to the ground and entering through the foundation, or eroding masonry.

Downspout

A downspout is used to drain the water from your eavestrough down to a lower roof or to the ground, and is usually connected with an elbow to direct water away from your home. This helps prevent damage to your home's foundation.

Siding

The aesthetics of your home can be dramatically improved with vinyl or aluminum siding. Not only does it do wonders for the look of your home, but it's maintenance-free and provides a degree of insulation and cuts down on drafts.

Copper

Copper is used in a variety of places in everyday life. On homes, copper is used for roofs and trimming.

Pre-painted steel

This product is sheet metal that's finished with different colours of paint and treated on the backside to prevent rusting. It has a life expectancy of 30+ years.
